Created in 1988, the Tallahassee Trust for Historic Preservation (TTHP) is a not for profit organization dedicated to the promotion of historic preservation. The mission of the TTHP is to identify historic resources, to provide technical assistance, to promote heritage tourism, and to serve as a clearinghouse for information on the historic resources in Tallahassee, Leon County, and the surrounding areas.
The volunteer members of the board of directors of the TTHP are diverse culturally and academically and its paid staff consists of professional historic preservationists with years of experience. Beth J. LaCivita, Executive Director of the TTHP, has worked in the historic preservation field since 1986 and also serves as the Local Historic Preservation Officer for the Tallahassee-Leon County Architectural Review Board.
Funding for the TTHP is provided through contractural agreements with the City of Tallahassee and Leon County, TTHP membership, charitable donations, and grants. The TTHP has offices in the historic James T. Perkins House located in the Calhoun Street Historic District in Tallahassee, Florida.
